Pulaski, WI (June 15, 2017) - Nsight Telservices is proud to announce Pulaski High School seniors Mikayla Berg and Jena Socha as the recipients of the 2017 Ray J. Riordan Scholarship.
Each student was awarded a $750 scholarship. The Ray J. Riordan Scholarship was established in 1989 to recognize a Pulaski High School senior who serves as an editor for the Pulaski News. The Pulaski News is the oldest student-run community newspaper in the United States. Ray J. Riordan served as an editor for the Tricopa, a community paper that preceded the Pulaski News. Ray was the son of Daniel and Florence Riordan, the first generation of the Riordan family to be involved in the telephone company.
The scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and exceptional work at the Pulaski News.
“Supporting post-secondary education for our local students is important to Nsight Telservices,” said Brighid Riordan, senior director of public affairs and customer experience initiatives at Nsight. “The Pulaski News is a valued part of this community and we are proud to support the hard work the student editors put in to this publication. We applaud their efforts and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
