Glas Announces Summer Concert Schedule

Acoustic Thursdays at Glas

Sturgeon Bay, WI – Glas, the green coffeehouse, is excited to announce the summer concert line-up. Acoustic Thursdays at Glas will start May 13 and continue every other week from 7- 9 p.m. These concerts are free and open to the public.

The line-up features a variety of artists from around the Midwest, each with a unique acoustic style.

May 13 - Patchouli - Famous for that smiling voice that instantly turns a bad day into a good one, Julie Patchouli’s down-to-earth, hopeful, vibrant songwriting is new American folk music, inspired by worldwide folk styles. Using elements of folk, flamenco, jazz and world beat rhythms, Patchouli’s sound has been described as “Joni Mitchell meets the acoustic Santana”.

May 27 - Skip Jones and Sue Fink - Skip Jones is a Wisconsin-based folksinger, storyteller, educator, grandfather. Hailing from Chicago, Sue Fink is a somewhat quirky, poignant singer-songwriter and entertainer, known for her compelling songs and charming performances.

June 10 & 11 - The Hollands! - Host Steelebridge Songfest at Glas.

June 24 - Charlie Parr - From Duluth, MN, Charlie Parr plays original and traditional folk and Piedmont-style blues, accompanying himself on National resonator guitars, 12-string guitar and sometimes a banjo.

July 8 - Kurt Gunn and John Statz - Kurt Gunn is a Northeastern Wisconsin native, Indie folk/singer/songwriter. John Statz, singer/songwriter won the Madison Area Music Award in 2007 for "Folk/Americana Album of the Year."

July 22 - Galynne and Mark on Drums - Galynne is a professional singer/songwriter, public speaker and transformational coach and one of the few visionaries to successfully combine all three professions into one. She joins forces with husband, Mark on Drums, to create a feel good groove and positive vibes.

August 12 - Matthew Davies - Milwaukee-based singer/songwriter Matthew Davies has an honest approach to songwriting and a healthy respect for those who have had an influence on his work. Davies is quickly becoming an artist to watch out for. His first record, Road Song, was recorded in unoccupied rooms of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.

August 26 - The Brothers Burn Mountain - From the Northwoods of Wisconsin, "Hey-Hey-My-My" Rocky Mountain High with Wilco-like angularities.

Sept 9 - The Hollands! - One part American dreamer; one part Aussie charm; a splash of gypsy love & punk DIY ethic, that is what makes up the duo, The Hollands!

September 23 - Bill and Kate Isles - Nationally touring artists Bill and Kate Isles write down-to-earth poetic reflections of life experiences and often explore adventurous metaphorical worlds.
