Green promotions begin April 1
During April, Cellcom is going green and helping customers save some green. In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, Cellcom will be planting trees in local communities for every new line activation or qualified upgrade. A tree will also be planted for every customer who signs up for paperless billing.
“Our goal is to plant 10,000 trees and we think our customers will step up to the challenge,” said Dan Fabry, COO of Mobile Services at Cellcom. “We’re committed to reducing our environmental impacts and support a number of efforts year round within the community. This promotion is another step we are taking as a company to live up to our commitments.”
The trees will be purchased through the Arbor Day Foundation and planted throughout the communities that Cellcom serves in June.
During April two green accessories will also be launched. An Ecolife Pouch will be made available, which is a durable cell phone case constructed using fabric made from 100% recycled PET plastic. An LG Bluetooth Solar Car Kit, which gives customers hands-free use of their mobile device in a fully rechargeable solar unit, will also be available.
Customers signing up for paperless billing will receive a $5 credit on their account. To enroll for paperless billing customers can visit the Cellcom website, call customer service or visit any retail or agent location.
To help customers get in the ‘green’ spirit, Cellcom is offering deals to save some green. Blackberry handsets will be available for as low as $9.95: BlackBerry 8830 - $9.95, BlackBerry Pearl - $29.95, BlackBerry Pearl Flip - $49.95, BlackBerry Curve 8530 - $49.95, and the BlackBerry Tour - $149.95.
During the month of April, customers can also receive a $200 Amazon.com Gift Card with any mobile broadband activation. Mobile broadband allows customers to connect to the Internet with their computers anywhere a 3G cell network is available.
