Sturgeon Bay, WI - Green Drinks, a cooperatively sponsored event by Glas, the Green Coffeehouse and Sustain Door, will hold their second meeting on Tuesday, February 23 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. at Glas, 67 East Maple St., Sturgeon Bay. Green Drinks will be a regular monthly social/salon style meeting to discuss sustainability-related issues at an informal gathering.
“Green Drinks is a program designed to meet the intellectual and social needs of Door County residents and visitors who yearn to discuss important issues about our local economy, our environment, and our social condition within the larger context of sustainability,” said Ann Hippensteel a volunteer with Sustain Door.
Participants are encouraged to bring a discussion question to pose. The open-format meetings are for anyone who is concerned about local living economy, environmental preservation, social justice, community building and other green topics.
The starting topic for February 23 will be “What would a sustainable Sturgeon Bay look like?” Participants can give their thoughts and opinions and will then be given an opportunity to ask their own questions.
“We are excited to be hosting Green Drinks at Glas. We strive to find new ways for the coffeehouse to be green so this is a perfect match for us," said Meghan Riordan, manager of Glas. “Sustain Door looks at the bigger picture of eco-friendly efforts, so it goes hand-in-hand with our mission at Glas.”
Future Green Drinks meetings to be held at Glas are scheduled for, Wednesday, March 24, Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, May 26.
