New residential offerings focus on intrusion control and smart home solutions using Honeywell’s LYNX touch security panels. With the basic LYNX panel, users can monitor doors and motion zones throughout their home via wireless Internet or a landline.

The Total Connect feature takes the system to the next level. Beyond sensing motion and opened doors, it can detect and notify you of carbon monoxide, water, extreme temperatures and smoke when you’re away from home. This home security system can also send you an alert when your children come home or if off-limit areas, like gun or medicine cabinets, are accessed.

“You can even stream live video or take and send yourself photos through the Total Connect feature,” Demeny said. “People are using these features for a variety of events, like checking on a babysitter to observe interaction with children, checking up on pets or maintaining a connection with elderly relatives who live independently but require extra attention.”

The security offerings for business feature more options and customization, including pass point card access, camera systems and full security systems. Systems of this caliber are designed and quoted on an individual basis.
