Junior Achievement of Brown County (JA) is excited to expand their programs for the 2011-12 school year thanks in part to the donation received from the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon.
Junior Achievement was selected as a Cellcom Green Bay Marathon charity partner for a three-year term that began in 2011. In August, Junior Achievement was awarded over $38,000 following a record setting year for the marathon. This donation has allowed Junior Achievement to add ten schools, 32 classrooms and two new high school programs to their curriculum this year.
“We’ve had some of the new schools and classrooms on the waiting list since 2008,” said Laura Bilotti, director of Junior Achievement of Brown County. “It’s been wonderful making the calls to the teachers to let them know we have funds to support JA programs in their classrooms this year.”
New schools include Bay View Middle School, McAuilffe Elementary, Redeemer Lutheran, Zion Lutheran, St. Bernard, Green Bay West High, Wilder Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, Martin Luther King Elementary and Baird Elementary.
“I'm so please to offer programs to educators that want to participate in a JA program experience,” Bilotti said. “We could not have offered these new classes without our partnership with the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon and the generous donation that resulted from the partnership.”
Bilotti estimates JA will impact an additional 800 local students this school year.
Junior Achievement is also expanding their team. The organization is recruiting a part-time business development manager. Please email Laura Bilotti for more information at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
