Oconto County recently planted twelve trees in North Bay Shore Park. The trees were purchased through money donated by Cellcom after an Earth Day promotion.
“Trees were planted at a park that has mostly ash trees,” said Robert Skalitzky, Oconto County forest and park administrator, “This was done to be better prepare if the emerald ash borer ever finds its way to the park and kills the ash trees.”
Cellcom donated trees for every new line activation or qualified upgrade during the promotional period. A tree was also donated for every customer who signed up for paperless billing.
“We’re committed to reducing our environmental impacts and support a number of efforts year round within the community,” said Dan Fabry, COO of Mobile Services at Cellcom. “This promotion is another step we took as a company to live up to our commitments.”
Over 9400 trees were donated to communities throughout Cellcom’s service area.
