The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 6th annual BBJ magazine’s “People You Should Know” awards on February 16, honoring 20 local individuals who are “Leading the Way,” including Brighid Riordan of Nsight, the parent company of Cellcom. These honorees were unveiled at a reception hosted at the Riverside Ballroom.
“I am continually amazed by Brighid’s endless energy and her commitment to the community. She serves on many different committees and boards, and spends an impressive amount of time in giving back, which is certainly characteristic of the Riordan family and a cornerstone of Nsight,” said Susan Powers, vice president of Human Resources at Nsight.
This year’s awards honored 20 individuals who were selected by a panel of judges for Leading the Way. Lead the Way is a nod to the Chamber’s strategic initiative for 2010-2011, and beyond.
Award criteria included having contact with the company’s customers, clients or outside public; exhibiting innovativeness, particularly in their role at the company; exhibiting spirit/drive/ambition in their role at the company and carrying out the company’s values; making a significant impact for the company; and being focused on self-improvement seeking ways to improve upon what he/she is already doing right.
In addition, all honorees are employed by Chamber members and live or work in Brown County.
“I’m pleased to celebrate the 6th anniversary of our BBJ magazine’s ‘People You Should Know’ by honoring some of the ‘unsung’ leaders in our community,” said Fred Monique, president, Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. “Many of these individuals lead the way without fanfare, and yet they have made a significant role in making an impact on the area we call home. I’m pleased to bring attention to their contributions.”
