A major enhancement was added to the Android Market™ earlier this month. Android phone users can now browse, purchase and install applications from the Android Market directly from a computer’s web browser.
“This puts the Android platform on the same page with other smartphone platforms,” said Nic Beining, product manager at Cellcom. “BlackBerry and Windows Mobile both have previously introduced this feature.”
While on a computer, users can go to http://market.android.com and sign in using the Google™ account that their phone is connected to. After users are signed in, they can browse and install new applications and even view applications they have previously downloaded.
To install a new application, users simply need to click the install button and Google will push the application to the device without doing anything on the device. Note: If a user has had more than one Android device, they will need to specify which device it should be downloaded to.
If have you questions, Cellcom recommends checking out the help section of Android Market. If you cannot find the answer, contact a Cellcom representative.
