Marathon Relay, 5K and WPS Kid’s Run spots still available
Registration for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is officially closed. As of 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 13, the full marathon reached its capacity. The half marathon closed on February 3.
“Once the half marathon closed we saw registration increase rapidly in the full marathon,” said Sean Ryan, race director for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. “This is great news for us and even better news for our charity partners.”
A limited number of spots remain for the half and marathon dedicated solely to fundraisers in the Run for a Reason program. These runners raise $300 that goes directly to the marathon charity partners, Family Services, Cerebral Palsy, Inc., and Junior Achievement. In exchange, each fundraiser receives an entry into the marathon or half marathon. Runners can sign up for the Run for a Reason program on the marathon website homepage.
The marathon relay has room for 70 more teams and the 5K, the short distance event, will not be capped. The WPS Kid’s Power Run will also not be capped.
The twelfth annual Cellcom Green Bay Marathon will take place on May 13-15, 2011. Over the past 11 years, the race has generated over $410,000 in proceeds for local charities. The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon seeks to create community spirit through a world-class marathon for people of all athletic abilities. For more information visit www.cellcomgreenbaymarathon.com.
