The strength of our communities largely impacts Nsight’s success, which is why we’re committed to giving back to the neighborhoods we serve. From helping educate future leaders to recycling handsets for underserved nations, our giving touches thousands of lives every year in the communities we serve. To maximize our impact, our corporate giving and community relations program supports organizations and activities in five areas.
Health and Human Services
We support organizations dedicated to the physical and emotional well-being of people of all ages. This includes social service programs that serve the underprivileged, the disadvantaged, senior citizens, children, minorities and the handicapped, as well as those emphasizing illness prevention.
Our signature event, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, provides thousands of participants the opportunity to set personal fitness goals as well as the training and support to help achieve them. Proceeds from the event benefit three local charities each year. Several other organizations we support in this area include the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity and the YMCA.
Education and Learning
The well being of our community and the economy depends upon education and continued learning. With that in mind, we are committed to enhancing business community leadership and opportunities for students that prepare them for careers, post-secondary education and life-long learning.
We’ve been a long-time supporter of Junior Achievement as well as the Jefferson School Adopters Group. Each year, our organization adopts one classroom at Jefferson School, whose students live in low-income Green Bay neighborhoods. We work with faculty to provide role models for the students and take part in class outings. In addition to underwriting school picnics and field trips, we help mentor students through in-classroom activities. Our involvement with Junior Achievement allows for similar mentoring opportunities in classrooms throughout Northeast Wisconsin as well as during the organization’s annual Business Challenge each year.
Community Enrichment
We constantly seek ways to enrich the lives of our neighbors through new partnerships that benefit the community. These partnerships allow us to shed light on many of the dynamic elements that make our communities shine! We encourage all of our employees to be active in their neighborhoods and support organizations dedicated to community improvement.
Our partnership with UW-Green Bay athletics and the Wisconsin Woodchucks in Wausau gives us the opportunity to be a part of a winning tradition with strong community ties. We also support the Hodag Country Music Festival which brings thousands of people to Rhinelander every summer. In addition, we give to the Knights of Columbus, numerous rotary and optimist clubs and local VFW organizations.
Arts and Culture
We understand that a strong cultural life is not only important, but essential to the overall quality of life in a community.
We understand that a strong cultural life is not only important, but essential to the overall quality of life in a community. Giving in this area is directed toward groups with broad public exposure including music, drama, museums and dance as well as programs designed to make the arts more accessible to a wider audience.
Our gifts in this area fund activities for groups such as the Fox Cities Building for Kids, Green Bay Symphony, the Peninsula Players and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Environment
We’re committed to improving the natural habitat for animal and plant life by providing environmental education, reducing environmental impacts and encouraging wise land use. We support recycling, conservation, proper use of land and energy efficiency.
In addition to the NEW Zoo, Cellcom’s Charitable Recycling program also falls into this category. Through this program, every wireless phone our company collects results in a monetary donation to charity. To date, we’ve given more than $50,000 to local charities.
